Responsible Investment
Positive Environmental & Social Impact - at the core of our Thesis
Clear Frontier was founded on the idea that farmland investment can support generational family farms, it can support the surrounding communities, and it can do so while also having a positive and lasting impact upon the environment all while feeding the world healthy and nutritious food.
These factors form the basis of our incorporation of ESG into our investment thesis, our responsible investment and ESG policies, and act as the building blocks in which to continually gauge and reassess our KPI’s and performance and impact in these areas.
Governance
Clear Frontier follows third-party certifying bodies for on farm operations - USDA Organic & Regenerative Organic Certification, Eight of the Seventeen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG’s), as well as is a signatory of the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investment (UNPRI) for overall ESG investment alignment.
Our ESG Commitment
-
Over approach to Responsible Investment
Alongside a prohibited investment list, Clear Frontier precludes investment activities that may potentially have negative consequences upon the environment, or the societies involved with or surrounding these investments.
Clear Frontier abides by an internal investment process that thoroughly vets for potential environmental and societal ESG issues.
Post investment management is comprised of a combination of internal policies that support adherence to state and local regulations (workers rights, farm worker health & safety, child labor laws, bribery, and whistleblowing), as well as external guidelines such as the UNPRI, UNSDG’s, USDA Organic & Regenerative Organic Certification as a wholistic approach to ‘G’ in our ESG approach. -
Guidelines on Environmental & Sustainability outcomes
Clear Frontier focuses on soil health, water use efficiency, improvements in biodiversity above and below the soil as the basis for our environmental management guidelines and KPI’s. We follow the guidelines set out by the USDA Organic Certification program, as well as the Regenerative Organic Certification program.

Guideline on Social Factors
Clear Frontier takes a farmer-first approach and holds a deep responsibility for it’s partner-growers and strives to create a space for future growers seeking to enter into Certified Organic production. We aim to create an inclusive environment; open to underserved individuals including women and beginning farmers while striving giving a platform for the dissemination of ideas and knowledge sharing.
