Our mission is to become the leading partner to specialist farmers and support them in growing a more sustainable business to the mutual benefit of our investors, the environment and family farms.

We believe there is an untapped opportunity to build a platform for carbon sequestration and improved soil health. And at the same time generate market-based returns for our investors, support communities in the heartland and make farming a viable and lucrative profession for families over the long term.

Healthier soil. Healthier planet.

Farmers care about building a healthy soil so they can improve their yields and their profit per acre.  Unfortunately, the current approaches in conventional agriculture have degraded the quality of the soil and driven us towards a system that encourages yield per acre.  With organic and other non-commodity crop production practices, synthetic pesticides are eliminated, soil health and water retention improve and carbon sequestration is accelerated.  We believe this transition has significant potential to mitigate climate change while at the same time helping farmers improve their balance sheet.

The economic opportunity.

Consumer demand for organically produced products is growing at a faster rate than the amount of land producing this food.  While the demand for organic products in the United States has risen year over year, unfortunately the supply of organic crops produced domestically has fallen short of that demand.  At the same time, conventional US farmers struggle to be profitable. 50% of all farm households lose money. Overall, net farm income decreased $9.1B in 2018.  

By transitioning to organic, farmers can build more profitable businesses by receiving a 250% higher price per bushel over conventional crops, and while having marginally lower expenses.  In addition, these farms are typically 40% more productive during droughts due to their higher soil organic matter.  

It is our aim to develop long term partnerships with domestic family farms as they transition to organic farming. We offer long-term flexible lease structures with a focus on land stewardship and farmer income and profitability.
